Biography

Alastair Thorburn-VitolsAlastair has performed with the Young Voices Toronto in residence at the University of Toronto and with the Canadian Children's Opera Company.  Most recently, he played the role of Gherardino in Scarborough Bluffs Orchestra’s production of Gianni Schicchi. He also played the title role for a recording of The Return of Peter Pan, toured Canada, US, Latvia and England with the Čikāgas Piecīši, recorded playing the guitar and singing for the Latvian National Television’s documentary Momentuzņēmums and has been frequently performing with his parents in Toronto, Cleveland and Florida. Alastair plays piano, guitar and violin and is the winner of the Ontario Finals of Concours d’art Oratoire (public speaking) for grade 4-6 of the Toronto District School Board West. Alastair enjoys cycling, being a peacemaker at school, skiing and composing his own music and short stories in French. He has been a finalist for the Canada-wide Kayak Kids Illustrated History Contest. In his spare time, he likes to sing underwater while scuba diving, fulfilling his love for music and oceanography.
