We are disappointed to share that in response to COVID-19 we have cancelled the performances of “The Muse and the Poet” on March 20, 2020; "Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Shostakovich" on May 8, 2020 and "Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony" on June 27, 2020.

The performaces of "Pulcinella" on June 6, 2020 and "Metamorphoses" on June 26, 2020 have been postponed to the summer/fall of 2020. Tickets will be valid without exchange. We will contact all patrons as soon as a new date is confirmed.

In light of the current circumstances, we are committed to providing the utmost flexibility for our patrons who have tickets for our concerst on March 20, May 8 and/or June 27:

  • Donate your tickets for an income tax receipt. The impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the charitable arts organizations like the KSO is tremendous. Your support during this challenging time is more important than ever.
  • Exchange your tickets to our upcoming performance on June 26 at Richmond Hill Centre. All exchange fees will be waived. As we anticipate our spring concerts to proceed as planned, we encourage our patrons to keep their tickets they may have already purchased.
  • Receive a gift certificate for the full value of your tickets, including service charges. Gift certificates may be used to purchase tickets to any KSO concert.

Ticket holders are invited to contact the KSO Office via email at GM@KSOrchestra.ca with their requests. A representative will follow up a soon as possible. Please note that you may experience longer than usual wait times, but rest assured that we will respond to every inquiry.

The performances of Bartók’s Concerto for orchestra, Saint-Saëns’ La muse et le poète, Prokofiev's Concerto for piano and orchestra No. 4, Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien, Frank's Variations Symphoniques, Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 15 and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 that had previously been programmed for March 20, May 8 and June 27 concerts will be presented during our 2021.2022 concert season.

This pandemic may cause people to feel distressed, and music can certainly have a significant role in increasing one’s sense of well-being during difficult times. While we are currently unable to provide our patrons with live orchestra experience, we encourage them to find comfort and joy in listening to classical music.

We would like to thank our community - subscribers, donors, patrons, musicians, artistic collaborators, and staff - for their support and commitment to keeping people safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you soon.
