HARMONY OF THE WORLDS

Saturday, March 6, 2027 at 8 p.m.

Meridian Arts Centre – George Weston Recital Hall

5040 Yonge St, Toronto

Experience a night of elegance, virtuosity, and profound orchestral expression with the Kindred Spirits Orchestra. The program opens with Dark Elements by celebrated award-winning composer Alice Ping Yee Ho, a powerful and evocative orchestral work inspired by the dynamic contrasts of nature and humanity. Rich in colour, rhythmic energy, and striking percussion writing, the work creates an atmosphere of intensity, mystery, and dramatic momentum. The spotlight then turns to Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, featuring internationally renowned Italian violinist Davide Alogna, soloist in residence with I Musici della Scala in Milan. Alogna’s virtuosic brilliance and expressive warmth illuminate every lyrical phrase of this beloved Romantic masterpiece. The evening concludes with Paul Hindemith’s Symphony Die Harmonie der Welt (Harmony of the Worlds), a work of striking depth, architectural precision, and rich orchestral complexity inspired by the cosmic ideas of Kepler. From contemporary sonic landscapes to soaring Romantic lyricism and monumental symphonic architecture, this program offers a captivating journey through diverse musical worlds, showcasing the orchestra’s precision, artistry, and the extraordinary talent of a world-class soloist.
