Rossini’s sparkling Overture to Cinderella’s timeless story illuminates the stage for one of the most beloved cornerstones of the repertoire, Tchaikovsky’s virtuosic Violin Concerto, performed to a great acclaim by Crystal Ye. Prokofiev’s effervescent Symphony No. 1 and Bizet’s teasing “L’amour est un oiseau rebelle”, sung by soprano Helena Holl, complete a romantic evening of passion and love. Mozart’s famous Symphony No. 25 that combines a classical form with flamboyant expression is paired with Haydn’s virtuosic trumpet concerto performed by Jonas Feldman.
